Strengths of Our Print Work

From the two pictures above, as a group we feel that these are our two favourite pictures and editing we did for our print task along side with the music video. The first picture as you can see is the back cover to our CD cover. We have come up with many strengths for this;

  1. the ribbon links in with our mise on scene for our protagonist. also as the colour is red, it has connotations of danger and blood and as you can see from our video, our protagonist is in danger from the animals which are chasing her.
  2. the font we have used, is girlie and cute which is two of our words we used in our planning to describe
    "Lottie" (who is our artist)
  3. we edited this picture in a quick dark formed background, which makes the picture seem a lot more twisted and unexpected, which ties together what we wanted from our video.
  4. finally, as you can not see the face of the artist, it makes the audience ask questions to themselves about who is she, etc, and once again, this is what we wanted from our audience as we wanted them to create enigmas and question who is she and what is she doing exactly.
The second picture is one of our panels we created to put inside our CD cover. We feel that as it is so basic, it says a lot more than it would if the picture is busy and full of different things. The animal masks themselves are why it is one of our favourites along side with the font once again. As usually CD covers just have the artist on the pages so people can tell who it belongs to, as a group we came up with the idea that we are going to break this convention and make it a lot more mysterious than what other artists do like Florence and The Machine. Below is a picture of Florence's picture from her CD cover and this one doesn't break the conventions of a general CD cover as it her face, which allows the audience to instantly know who she is and what to expect from this single.
