Before creating our CD covers etc, we researched many different CD covers which fit in with our genre. As Florence and The Machine comes under the indie, indie pop genre these are the kind of artists we were looking at. Here are some of the CD covers we liked whilst we were browsing.
As you can see from these three CD covers above, the female artists within this genre have a quite basic front cover with the artists face on it and that's it. This is where we got our inspiration from when creating our CD cover. We felt that by researching into the indie/indie-pop genre we would make our artist fit straight in with the rest. As Kate Nash, KT Tunstall and Imogen Heap are all indie artists, we felt that we should almost copy their ways. Below is our CD cover for our music video 'Dog Days Are Over'
Our front cover is very basic just like the ones we researched. We felt that as our protagonists pose and posture is very strong we didn't need a lot of writing on the front, we thought that the picture says it all.
