Lay dagger dead inside a lonely bed
Trying to hide the hole inside my head
Watching the stars slide down to reach the end
The sleep is not my friend
Drinking champagne to forget yesterday
Coz I remember, the way, the way, the way
It ended the day, the day, the day, the day
That I walked away, away, away, away
CHORUS:
Drinking champagne, made by the angel
Who goes by the name of Glittering Gabriel
Drinking champagne made of an angel's
Tears and pain, but I feel celestial
Elderly stars slide down the morning sky
Slipping away to find a place to die
I wonder when the night will reach it's end
The sleep is not my friend
Drinking champagne, meant for a wedding
Toast to the bride, a fairytale ending
Drinking champagne, a bottle to myself
Savor the taste of fabricated wealth
As you can see from the video, Marina and the Diamonds fits in well with our genre in many ways. The reasons for this is that:
- Her setting
- Her outfits
- Her make-up
- The mise en scene
One of the main reasons why this video fits in well with our video we are going to do is because at the end, Marina, wakes up, and acts like it was all a dream. This is what we are going to do with our artist.
In Marina's other videos she has created, especially in 'I'm Not A Robot', it fits in with our genre and our plans for the video in various ways. This is because, for our studio based performance, our artist will have glitter on her lips, which will contrast in with her plain make-up and outfit. Finally, we have planned to put face paint on our artist too, across her eyes in some location shots.
Hopefully we will get something like these shots in our music video, as this is what we are aiming for. As our artist is quirky, just like Marina's brand image.
