Research: Music Video Genre - Analysing Diana Vickers' Video

This is the album cover for Diana Vickers single 'the boy who murdered love.' Just from this album cover you can tell her genre as she looks like a typical indie artist.

This is the opening shot of Diana Vickers song 'the boy who murdered love.' I believe that this music video challenges the conventions of a typical music video but also follows some of the normal conventions. I believe that this video fits in with our music genre because the artist is known for her unique style and her music genre is 'indie pop.'

This is a one of the first shots from the video of were we can see Diana's style and the genre of the music. You can that Diana has got a unique style and this is a similar style to the one we would like to achieve in our music video.

In this video Diana challenges the typical conventions as in her video she has used animation. As you can see from this screen shot they have used animation this challenging the normal music video as it has been editing in, they have done this to make the video more unique. I beleive that this will attract epople to watch the video because it is different as you dot normal see this in a typical music visdeo and audiences like something different.
Andrew Goodman has a theory that there is a relationship between the lyrics and the music video. I believe that this theory applies in this video because what she is saying reflects what is being shown on screen. For example when she sings the lyrics 'then you put the arrow in my back.' A shot of an arrow hitting her is shown this is good because the video is narrative which means its telling us a story and the lyrics and what is happening on screen reflect this. It is also goo as they have creates the arrows using annimation.
